“Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit, whence ye are digged. For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all waste places, and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody” (Isa. 51:1,3).

TWENTY-FIFTH PEAK

The Lord Jesus is that Rock ( I Cor. 10:4 ). When we repent of our sins and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal saviour, we become partakers of His very nature ( II Peter 1:4 ). By nature we were sinners, and God could not see in us any goodness as Paul testifies in Rom. 7:18. There is “no good thing” in our nature as human beings, and in the eyes of God, there is also nothing good in us spiritually. There is nothing in our life which God can accept for His use.

But the moment we accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour, and believe that He died in our Stead, and rose again for our justification, His very life is poured into us and we are made partakers of His nature. The prophet tells us; ‘Let us not look at ourselves, but at the Rock whence we have been hewn because He himself has become our righteousness.’ All the virtues of Lord Jesus Christ and His qualifications are poured into us day by day, as we keep on looking unto Jesus. He is our example and our life.

If you want to be humble, say to Him, “ Lord, make me meek and lowly like yourself”. If you want to love your enemies, say to Him, “Lord give me the same love with which you loved your enemies, when you said, Forgive them, they know not what they do.” We can ask Him to give us His love, long-suffering, patience, and joy. Then one day, we shall be like him. With that life, we will be given immortal, glorified bodies ( I John 3:2 ). “Oh Lord, give me a greater measure of Thy life to overcome my failures and short comings.” In that way we shall become overcomers.

18.సిలువను గూర్చిన వార్త, నశించుచున్న వారికి వెఱ్ఱి తనము గాని రక్షింపబడుచున్న మనకు దేవుని శక్తి.
19.ఇందు విషయమై జ్ఞానుల జ్ఞానమును నాశనము చేతును. వివేకుల వివేకమును శూన్యపరతును అని వ్రాయబడియున్నది.
20.జ్ఞాని యేమయ్యెను? శాస్త్రి యేమయ్యెను? ఈ లోకపు(మూలభాషలో-ఈ యుగపు) తర్కవాది యేమయ్యెను? ఈలోక జ్ఞానమును దేవుడు వెఱ్ఱితనముగా చేసియున్నాడు గదా?
21.దేవుని జ్ఞానానుసారముగా లోకము తన జ్ఞానముచేత దేవునిని ఎరుగకుండినందున, సువార్త ప్రకటనయను వెఱ్ఱి తనముచేత నమ్మువారిని రక్షించుట దేవుని దయా పూర్వక సంకల్ప మాయెను.
22.యూదులు సూచక క్రియలు చేయుమని అడుగుచున్నారు, గ్రీసుదేశస్థులు జ్ఞానము వెదకుచున్నారు.
23.అయితే మేము సిలువవేయబడిన క్రీస్తును ప్రకటించుచున్నాము.
24.ఆయన యూదులకు ఆటంకము గాను అన్యజనులకు వెఱ్ఱితనముగాను ఉన్నాడు; గాని యూదులకేమి, గ్రీసుదేశస్థులకేమి, పిలువబడినవారికే క్రీస్తు దేవుని శక్తియును దేవుని జ్ఞానమునైయున్నాడు.
25.దేవుని వెఱ్ఱితనము మనుష్య జ్ఞానము కంటె జ్ఞానముగలది, దేవుని బలహీనత మనుష్యుల బలముకంటె బలమైనది.
